Tuesday, 7 February 2012. White Rock, Revisited. Yesterday, I got up and figured, hey, it's a beautiful day - sunny and delightful - why not scoot to work and then go for a ride after school? Well, it was -3° C. outside so that plan was a no-go. Then, yesterday evening, I thought, hey, maybe it would be nice to do a night scoot to take care of a few errands. 走る、曲がる、止まる。 登る、下りる、転ぶ。 話す、いじる、楽しむ。 勘や経験があると、どこが原因なのか優先順位をつけて問題を解決して行けますが、素人だとそうは行きません。 オーバーホールというと大げさで難しい印象がありますが、このガソリンコックのオーバーホールは簡単です。ネジで3本止めてあるだけなので、プラスドライバーで簡単に分解出来ます。10分ほどで注文していた部品に交換・洗浄することができました。ガソリン漏れも止まりました。 ガソリンコックが不調だと、ガソリンが漏れたりエンジンに十分なガソリンを送ることができなくなるので、交換することで十分なガソリンを送り込むことができると考えていましたが違う原因のようです。 ただし、フレームやエンジンなど、重要な部位に取り付けるボルトは純正部品で注文しないと、チタンやマグネシウムなど特殊な素材だった場合、それにあったボルトでないとネジをかじってしまいます。 スポーツサイクルのフレーム素材にアルミやクロモリ、チタンはありますが、ステンレス製のスポーツサイクルを見ないのはこのせいだと思っています。
