My favorite place is the 61c Cafe. This homepage is years out of date. I live in New York City and work at Google now. See how we've put places mentioned in books on maps. My main project is Google Goggles. Which lets you search by pointing your phone and snapping a picture of what you want to know more about. There be dragons below. I defended my PhD thesis. Entitled `Cluster scheduling for explicitly-speculative tasks.'. This work formed the Batchactive Scheduling Project summarized here. Are available...

my ridiculously circuitous plan: May 2008

My ridiculously circuitous plan. A Farewell to Pittsburgh. Eight years, nineteen days ago, I arrived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in a convoy from Atlanta consisting of a ten-foot cargo truck and a slightly battered green '95 Honda Civic with about ninety thousand miles on it, and moved into a seven hundred square foot third-floor walk-up with central air one block off Walnut in Shadyside with my fiancée. In A Moving State Of Mind. Things. It strikes me that if I only owned the things I actually used.

As Seen from My Bike...: October 2013
http://pghtrailtales.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 24, 2013. Snow is a Four Letter Word. Once again I've skipped writing up the last few rides because there really wasn't much out of the norm on them. We came, we rode, we went home. I suppose some of the folks that attended the October bike party of "Flock Of Cycles" last week would qualify as unusual. We've seen some of these outfits before, but it's hard not to smile when they appear again. The replacement duck isn't quite cutting it. Back to the Flock ride. I used the night ride ...

Christmas in Quebec City. Posted on February 23, 2017. Hotel Cap Diamond is located on 39, Avenue Sainte-Genevieve, Quebec QC G1R 4B3. This intimate boutique style hotel is perfect for travelers seeking privacy and amazing customer service. I felt welcomed the minute I arrived and the other guest I spoke with felt exactly the same. The hotel is in the oldest building on the street and has a rich history. It is no surprise that Chateau Frontenac is the most photographed hotel in the world. While in Quebec...

Not riding for sport. sometimes riding for transport. always riding for fun. Sunday, November 16, 2014. Coffeeneuring Challenge 2014 Wrap-Up. I completed the 4th Annual Chasing Mailboxes Coffeeneuring Challenge. I made a summary table of my rides below. The one thing I didn't really do this year, even though I had set it out as a pre-coffeeneuring goal for myself. From my first coffeeneuring ride: the Duke Ellington Memorial Bridge. There's always next year! Coffeeneuring Challenge 2014 Ride Table. Bike ...

Ay Long time no blog. It's been 2 months since we eased back into the Pittsburgh routine. I've got my yinzer speak down pat again. A few blog-worthy events have transpired since then, but every time I get around to writing about it, all of a sudden it feels like much ado about nothing. But what's a log for, anyway? Here are the past few weeks in brief:. Been hanging out at cafes regularly in the evenings, particularly this one. Got older. Celebrated my birthday at Soba Lounge. Stacked. I was the only...

Fiesta Fugitives: Pittsburgh Trip
http://fiestafugitives.blogspot.com/2011/09/pittsburgh-trip.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. Yes, boys and girls. The Pittsburgh trip that Kate and I had planned in July. Has finally materialized. Here are some pics of the short weekend. Saturday, September 10th, 2011. Drove into town around noon and checked in at the Residence Inn Pittsburgh Oakland. The room actually had a kitchen! While Kate was still working, took the hotel shuttle to Squirrel Hill. Parking spots everywhere. What gives? Went to the Rose Tea Cafe. The Acoustic Music Works. And you know what's more?

It was a longer-than-anticipated break for us through the holiday season, but we enter 2013 more committed than ever to 90 Proof. We resume work in our home office, which is now transformed into a legitimate 90 Proof Headquarters with a couple pieces of art. Thanks to Meredith and Paulie Anne for these inspiring gems! ItR...
